Hi,
I have been doing a bit of investigation into wifi channels to see if I can improve my throughput.
Now the AP10 is only capable of approx 72mb/s in each direction while the AP30 is capable of 144mb/s in each direction if you get the channel allocations correct.
In Australia we should in theory have 13 channels in the 2.4ghz band available to us, but the AP10 and AP30 only have 11. Before you ask, they are setup for Australia.
To get maximum, throughput I should lock the APs on none overlapping channels eg 1,6,13 (maybe 11). I shifted my AP30 to channel 1, the throughput dropped significantly from when it was on auto. I was able to achieve 144mb/s on the MAC. he devices are only about 2m apart.
So how do I get channel 13 on my AP30 in Australia?
Ian
interestingly, the AP10mseems to work better on channel 1 and the AP30 on channel 11. I have 3 portable phones all on different connections in the same room as the AP30.
