Hi guys,
I was very happy to recieve 4G USB modem support after the feature request Network: 4G USB Support, but it's far from usable so far, I fear...
The 8.900 actually worked best with my Huawei E398 modem altough I got maximum 20 mbit throughput while a PC could get 65 mbit using the same modem. Using several uplinks simultaneously doens't balance the load, all connections are made on one link only despite Uplink Balancing being turned on.
The current 8.930 finds the modem sometimes and sometimes not, but after a few reboots and changing usb-ports it usually gets it. It doesn't accept the correct apn rendering link not coming up. Instead it defaults to the providers 3G-apn. Creating the interface with the faulty apn and then trying to change it simply doesn't save the changes.
With hope in the future,
Anders
