First off: I'm THE Uber Noober here.
I've been recently hired by an organization that has dual ASG220s (8.3.0 with 3 updates pending) installed and partially configured (I was hired mid process). They've basically abandoned the project and I'm here learning as I go. My background is not in networking, though I feel comfortable picking stuff up quickly by searching the forums.
A recent assignment has been to allow one of our people to use a POLYCOM phone (model IP321) wherever in the 'world' they are (as long as they have access to the internet of course) as though they were in one of our offices. Simple. This gentleman didn't want to interfere with his personal cell phone, so I couldn't get SIP calls installed on his iPhone or Android based phone.
I ended up finding an ASTARO RED 10 in the switch room, still in the box and plastic not opened - though the box appeared to be opened at least once previously.
I've gone into the ASTARO WebAdmin->RED Managment->[Server] Deployment Helper tab. I entered my Branch name, enter the RED ID found on the bottom of the device, add (what I believe) should be the IPv4 interface for the ASG in the RED Interface IPv4 field. When I do this, I get an error message: "This device is already locked. Please enter the unlock code for the device." I'm not sure if it's because I've messed something up in the configuration or if, somehow, one of consultants setting things up initially did something that I can't find. There are currently no RED devices configured in the ASTARO 220. I had to actually enable the service when I began trying to do this.
Is there a good, step by step (noob), guide available for this process. I've found the ASTARO links to setting it up, but I'm nowhere near being able to use a single paragraph to do this yet. I have found a well written, detailed, description of how someone on this forum did it with version 7.5.xx, but step one was not relevant to my current version.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Todd
