ASG 8.300

Dual Core Processor 2.4GHz
2GB of RAM
80GB Drive
My home ASG is only running Network Security right now with IPS turned off. Firewall rules allow Internal Network - Any Port - Any IP. Masquerading is setup for Internal to External. DNAT/SNAT has no rules for inbound access. No QoS enabled. I run DHCP from the ASG and use the OpenDNS And Google DNS servers. I've got a standard Netgear Router acting as an Access Point.
So basically just a standard firewall. All of my workstations work perfectly on the wired and wireless networks. However, iPhones, iPads and my AppleTV all have trouble getting to the Internet through the ASG. I've reviewed the logs and watched the realtime connection logs. You can see it connect, however it just can't get the content it needs. I reset my Cable modem and ASG just to see if it was a Cable modem issue. Still nothing. I do speed tests through my workstations and I've got 8Mbits Download and 1Mbits Upload. So I know the Internet is working.
On my AppleTV I was trying to watch a movie that I rented and stream it as I've done before. Through the ASG it took forever to attempt to rent it and then gave me a Movie will be ready to be viewed in 3 hours 46 minutes. That is crazy. I then shutdown the ASG and reconfigured the Netgear Router to have DHCP and Connected the Cable modem to the Netgear. I then selected the same movie and it started to stream instantly and played through flawlessly.
To me this really makes no sense that the ASG can't deal with streaming the movie, but a standard home Netgear router can do it flawlessly. It should doing simple IP Tables and passing IP traffic to the Internet, no filtering, no AV scanning, No QoS, nothing. Just pass the traffic correctly.
Any ideas from anyone on why the ASG has such bizarre issues?
