All,
I'm sure that people will agree and disagree with me on this, but the merits of my decision are not subject of this post. So, I respectfully request that any responses be limited to the technical execution of my decision. :D
I am not a fan of the new Google privacy policy (or IMHO, lack thereof), so I have decided to use my ASG 8.300 to block all traffic out of my network to any Google site (but mainly the search tool). With that said, I have tried the following:
1) Packet filter rule utilizing a DNS Group for Google
2) Web filter for http://www\.google\.com (and several REGEX configs)
3) A combination of 1 & 2
So far, I can still easily get to Google and perform searches. I cannot see where ASG is doing anything to stop traffic based on the Packet Filter or Web Filter.
Any ideas on what the problem is or a better way of doing it? I would be fine with redirecting to another URL or something, but looking for some expert opinions here.
Thanks!
