I've got a small linux machine running a game server on the same host as my virtual appliance. I was able to connect to the game server without issue on the local lan, but anyone connecting from the internet would be disconnected (timed out) about 30 seconds after connecting. I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out what was causing the problem by changing firewall rules, vm settings, etc. Out of desperation I took the linux server off of the virtual switch the ASG used to connect to the physical lan and moved it to a separate virtual switch connected to the same physical switch and everything started working as it should. I'm happy it's working but can anybody tell me why this worked and what caused the problem in the first place? And why do my other virtual machines so no signs of problems using the first virtual switch?
