we got problems using the dsl-modem (PPPoE) D-Link DSL-321B in "Router"-mode.
You can login via webpage and configure the device to act as an "dumb" dsl-modem (=bridge, astaro holds the account credentials) or as an router (credentials in dlink-device). With the router-config, the astaro ist just an DHCP-member on her wan-if.
We're using an ha-environment. So if there any problems with the dsl-/PPPoE-Connect on D-Link side (short reconnect), the astaro(s) need a loooooong time to recognize (on the wan-port) that the connection is (or was) broken and no surfing is possible. Only when i switch the ha-constellation (to astaro #2) OR switch off/on the wan-if it works again.
What can i do in this case? Just switch to direct pppoe-authentication via astaro (bridge-mode/modem)?
